I’ve been receiving unemployment benefits for a couple of months now, I was wrongfully terminated from my last employer and they have now paid me a settlement. On my next payment request I will need to claim this money, will it affect my benefits?

Ask the attorney who represented you. It probably depends on what they said the money was for.

If you are getting the settlement in one lump sum, it only affects your benefits the week that you receive it. So only one week of unemployment will be withheld from you. You just report it on the week you get the settlement payment.
